Best Card Ever

The one good thing about not getting to spend my days with my munchkin is that she had time to make me a wonderful Mother's Day card. (Thanks Miss Patty!)

Can you believe she is only 16 months old?! She is a rock star.

...and she knows it.

New adventures

Today one of my best friends got to welcome to the world her newest son. He is awesome. I love him. We have texted, he knows I'm his favorite. He is also a genius. I know this because at six hours old he can say "I love you Aunt Steph".

Also, Sydney went back to the the baby sitter's house today. This was sad for me, but she did great. At least she did great until she decided she no longer liked to wear diapers. Since she decided this, she took her pants and diaper off, twice, at nap time. When she got home this continued. She kept trying to get her diaper off again without being stopped. When this girl sets her mind to something, that is just the way it is gonna be... This must come from Steve's side of the family. Needless to say we are now potty training and she went pee pee in the potty for the first time!

Sick baby/Mom's visit

It has been a crazy two weeks in our household. Sydney was sick for a week and as soon as she started feeling better my mom arrived for a week. I love it when my mom gets to visit us. We are all spoiled, but the best part is we get one on one time with her. I love all of my family dearly but it is nice to get a week with just mom instead of trying to cram a million things into one week. This time I crammed most things in before she arrived so that we could hang out. I even finished the playroom wall the night before she came.

While she was here I also got some crafts done. It was really nice to hang out and have an extra pair of hands. We miss her already!! Thankfully we will be going home in a month. :)

Family Rules

It is definitely not perfect, but we are very pleased with it and enjoy having our rules up. I am sure there will be rules added and a new version created with milder colors when we move. For now it does the job.

March...

Last March I was home for the majority of the month with my baby and husband while getting paid. Then when I had to go back to work my mom came back out for our third visit in three months...yep last March was WAY better than this one. But we have almost made it. Four more days. Steve has been an awesome help letting me go in early and working from home so that I don't have to miss out on family time in the evenings. Because let's face it, even in all of her defiance and fit throwing glory, how could anyone be away from this huffy faced beauty?

I am one lucky lady!

So...

Tonight I busted my butt to get the nightly routine done early. I wanted to lay down, watch some Netflix and get to bed so that I can go into work early tomorrow. I did this without checking that Netflix was working...turns out it isn't.

We found out today that we were originally quoted the wrong price for the car.

Even Sydney was outraged by the new price! Thankfully, they were able to fix it today and we are back to being a two car family.

I think God gives us days like this to remind us of the important things and what we have to be thankful for. So today I am thankful that at the end of the day, even when all of the little things go wrong, I get to snug with this guy.

Weekend Recap

Friday the weather was beautiful and when we got home from work Steve suggested taking Sydney to swing. There is a playground across the street. She had no fear.

Saturday after Steve let me sleep in and cleaned the kitchen, he took my car to get inspected. We got a phone call to let us know that the car failed inspection, would be expensive to fix, and the part would not be in until Wednesday. We found this out while our sweet girl was screaming because her gums hurt. She was flinging jello, not interested in the Fresh Beats (if you know my daughter you know this is an issue) and just an unhappy baby. The only thing that stopped the crying was being outside, and Tylenol. Steve and I ended up discussing what to do about the car through the screen door. Because if the door was open Sydney thought she was going back inside and lost it again. Fun times!

Sunday was a good day. Sydney and I let Steve sleep while we went to Wal-Mart for groceries. Then hung out and had a lazy day of cleaning and folding clothes. As you may notice...I did not work this weekend!! It was wonderful, even if I am paying for it now. But hanging out with this girl...

...totally worth it!

Cupcake fun

Last night I took it upon myself to make these cupcakes. In case you do not know me, I do not bake. Cooking I love, but baking is a rare occurrence. First I mixed the cake batter, then sectioned into bowls, and colored.

Then I layered the batter into the cupcake liners as best I could.

The biggest bummer of this project was that I found out I only have ONE cupcake pan. This meant in between each round I had to refrigerate the batter and then stir it up again to make it warm and able to layer.

This is what they looked like after baking. The inside was even better...

But the best part, was that this little girl had fun cupcakes to share with her friends today.

I took the extras to work with me, and have actually been informed I am making them for a friends wedding in July. You can bet I will be getting more pans before then!

Mornings...

I am blessed to have a job that pays our bills.

I am blessed to have an awesome woman who loves my child care for her while I can't.

It is so hard to be grateful for these blessings when my sweet baby girl cries as I hand her off in the morning.

First thing on the radio today..."With every breath I take, I will give thanks to God above". Point taken, Thank ya Jesus!

Just a reminder to be thankful for everything.
